Why we build rather than assemble. You could wire this together from open-source parts. The time goes into what sits between them — the joins, the failure modes, the behaviour nobody documents. We built the engine instead, so when something breaks we’re reading our own code.

How you buy it. From a licence your team runs, through to a fully managed service. Most sit between the two, and move along that line as your team’s familiarity grows.
